Roosevelt Story

Coleson's "The Point" reports that Teddy Roosevelt "didn’t like receiving lines" and believed people didn’t really listen to the "happy talk" in which people engage in that setting. To test his theory, as the story goes, he simply greeted each person by saying "I shot my grandmother today,” to see their reaction. Person after person "simply nodded their head, smiled and moved on," seemingly proving his theory, until one man finally responded, “And surely she deserved it, sir.”
