Her mother and father met "in a litty bitty Babdist church in the courtry" outside Jackson.  Grandmother was a school teacher and Big Daddy was, well, just Rotbitt at that time and was in business in the tiny river town of Rosedale with his older brother Henry Clay.  Robitt made the 140 mile trip in his Rolls Royce (yeah, I know, but they both told me that, and he did love cars, so . . . ) -- anyway, he made the trip to visit some of his family members, and even though he was a good Meth-dist, while there, he visited the Babdist church for an ice cream social and revival meeting.  Grandmother saw him across the room and told me years later, "he looked good to me!"  Afterward, he took the church gang for a drive in his car, and she managed to sit up front and draw his attention.

He started driving down on Sundays to visit on a regular basis.

She was there.

Every time.
