ut

When I attended ut, I lived on top of the hill overlooking Barton Springs in the garage apartment of a 100+ year-old Austin-chalk farm house with a historical monument plaque.

The house stood on the top of the hill with an incredible view of Zilker Park (where the Stones recently played) and the river.

Underneath my apartment, the Dad and a couple of boys worked on their motorcycles every night to prepare for the weekend motocross races.

Sometimes they reved up the whiny engines (think, "rnnnn nnn nnn nnn"), but even though it was loud, I don't remember it bothering me at all.

Of course they had to deal with the thundering roar of my dual quad Roadrunner when I squeeled into the driveway at 2 am . . . ON A SCHOOL NITE.

Imagine that . . .

. . . or if you like, "Heavens to Betsy, what will they think of next."
