I've seen that before

Okay, sometimes I just want to post when I have not thought of something poignant to say, so I post revisions of, or excerpts from pop songs. I even like to pepper my speach with film script quotations.

Why, you might ask (you said that didn't you?).

It's as simple as this. Sometimes someone else has already written perfectly the concept I want to express, and in the interest of converving the energy of the universe, why try to "reinvent the wheel." Simply acknowledge a successful turn of phrase and use it.

I mean, can you improve "Here' lookin' at you, kid," or "We'll always have Paris," or even "Frankly my dear . . ." There are, of course, so many others, some lengthy, but the point remains, if it's been well-said before, don't diminish the concept by rewriting it.
