Today, the third Thursday in November, marks the worldwide release of the 2007 Beaujolais Nouveau.
The wine is approximately six weeks from the required hand-harvest, and is very easy to drink because of whole berry fermentation, a technique that preserves the fresh and fruity flavor without imparting the taste of the bitter tannins from the grape skins.
Salut!

huh?
It's wine. It's red. It's fruity or sort of sweet. It's six or eight weeks from harvest, so it's really new. Under French law, no one can sell a drop of Beaujolais Nouveau for the current year (from the current year's harvest) until the third Thursday of November. There is a big celebration and its released all over the world on that day just in time for the beginning of the holidays.
