"Soon to be Named" is a doe-haired boxer with white stockings and chest who ambled into our home yesterday from the Humane Society. She's about six months old, lanky and very lazy. She slept about eighteen hours yesterday, awakening only to politely say in the Queen's English, "won't you please pardon me while I step outside briefly."
Of course, when I last saw her, she was still suffering from the dizzying effects of her surgery (spayed before delivery per the Society rules), so we'll see if she gets rowdier, but all first observations indicate she was actually born in Morocco at the Japanese lady's house that produced Bite, Lick, Jump, etc., and that Quiet is actually her sister.

Since Quiet is no longer with us, you could name her Ginger II.
Photo coming soon?
Good suggestion. It was a close vote but there was a surge of support for "Madeleine," like Madeleine from the book quote you sent (". . . two straight lines. . ." and the name of our favorite restaurant for breakfast.
We call her Maddie, like Maddie Ross in True Grit (the one who said as Rooster and LaBoeuf gallop away from the ferry, leaving her behind: "Those horses can't get away from Little Blackie - they're loaded down with fat men and iron.")
